School Reading Coaches

Rowland Reading Foundation, publisher of the Superkids K-2 reading program, seeks per-diem coaches for schools in the following areas:

  • Florida (in the southern region)
  • Minnesota (in the greater Minneapolis area)
  • Indiana (in the greater Indianapolis area)
  • New York (in the greater Westchester area)
  • New York (in the greater Rochester and Buffalo area)
  • Michigan (in the greater Detroit area)
  • Virginia (in the greater Richmond area)
  • Virginia (in the greater Roanoke area)

This is a part-time, flexible, independent contractor position and there are no benefits.

Duties

  • Providing installation in-service to primary school teachers
  • Providing instructional support to primary classroom teachers
  • Providing follow-up phone and e-mail support to teachers
  • Establishing a positive response to our program with administrators in schools
  • Attending educational conferences and exhibiting materials

Qualifications

  • B.A. degree in education or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade classroom experience required
  • Background in reading instruction or literacy required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-discipline, initiative, and willingness to travel are essential

Computer Support Technician

Rowland Reading Foundation, an educational publisher, seeks a computer support technician. This is a full-time position with benefits, reporting to the manager of IT.

Duties

  • Serve as primary Helpdesk support for in-house and field staff.
  • Diagnose and repair software and hardware problems.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and repair Windows and Mac operating systems on desktops and laptops.
  • Install and maintain workstation applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Adobe Creative Suite, anti-virus software, monitoring software, and remote support software.
  • Train staff on desktop applications listed above.
  • Set up and manage users and groups in Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Install and support peripherals, such as printers, fax machines, phones, and wireless devices.
  • Maintain inventory of computer, phone, and AV equipment.
  • Track, prioritize and document requests using an IT support request system

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology
  • 2–3 years’ experience supporting computers in a business environment
  • Ability to support Windows and Mac computers
  • Strong interpersonal skills
